Eine Auszeit zwischendurch, das tut gut. Einfach raus aus dem Alltag, rein in entspannte Tage und Füße hochlegen. Das habe ich gerade hinter mir, mit meinem Freund und meiner Schwester-im-Herzen. Ein paar Tage in den Niederlanden, in einem kleinen Ferienhaus auf einem Bauernhof in Voorthuizen. Das Wetter war insgesamt schlecht, sodass wir viel gespielt, gegessen, getrunken und geschlafen haben. Einfach nichts machen.
Einen Tag hatten wir Sonnenschein. Diesen haben wir in Utrecht verbracht. Ein lockerer Spaziergang durch die Innenstadt, lecker essen und geshoppt haben wir natürlich auch. Wart ihr schon einmal in Utrecht?
Utrecht ist so wie Amsterdam wirkt nur Miniklein – wir waren aber auch nur im Zentrum. Ein paar doppelstöckigen Grachten (das gibt es nur dort) mit den süßen, typischen Häusern, viele kleine Läden – Neues und Altes. Trotzdem ist Utrecht die viertgrößte Stadt in den Niederlanden. Utrecht ist eine Universitätsstadt, es sind viele junge Leute unterwegs, natürlich häufig auf dem Rad.
Es ist entspannender und ruhiger als in Amsterdam. Viele kleine Lokale zum Einkehren gibt es auch. Wir gönnten uns eine Pommes im besten Laden in Utrecht: Dapp Frietwinkel. Die Trüffelmayo lohnt sich! Fahrt beim nächsten Mal nicht an Utrecht vorbei: Die Stadt ist wirklich wie Amsterdam, nur viel ruhiger, kleiner und mit viel weniger Touristen. Ich empfehle euch einen Besuch dort – im Sommer ist es bestimmt noch viel gemütlicher.

A break in between is good. Just get out of everyday life, put in relaxed days and put your feet up. I’ve just finished that with my boyfriend and my sister-in-heart. A few days in the Netherlands, in a small holiday home on a farm in Voorthuizen. The weather was bad overall, so we played, ate, drank and slept a lot. Just don’t do anything.
We had sunshine one day. We spent this in Utrecht. A leisurely stroll through the city center, delicious food and of course we also shop. Have you ever been to Utrecht?
Utrecht, like Amsterdam, only seems tiny – but we were only in the center. A couple of two-story canals (you can only find them there) with their cute, typical houses, many small shops – new and old. Nevertheless, Utrecht is the fourth largest city in the Netherlands. Utrecht is a university city, there are a lot of young people on the go, of course often by bike.
It is more relaxing and calm than in Amsterdam. There are also many small places to stop for a bite to eat. We treated ourselves to chips in the best shop in Utrecht: Dapp Frietwinkel. The truffle mayo is worth it! Don’t drive past Utrecht next time: The city is really like Amsterdam, only much quieter, smaller and with a lot fewer tourists. I recommend a visit there – in summer it will be even more comfortable.
